About Bios Bamboo
India is the world's second largest cultivator of bamboo after China, with 136 species and 23 genera spread over 13.96 million hectares, creating hundreds of thousands of tonnes of spent bamboo husk from culm every year at farmer level. Much of this discarded resource ends up in landfill emitting harmful greenhouse gases, including methane.
We work with local farmers in India to transform these spent bamboo husk into value at an industrial scale, giving new life to a material previously considered waste, and contributing to a circular economy.
